Picking Weeds

Busy arranging his furniture in his new home, Marius took a break and stepped outside. He smiled, feeling the rush of fresh air, but then the bat took a minute to look around and immediately frowned. In his rush to see his house, Marius hadn't noticed that Solstice was full of weeds! Wanting the town to look nice, he reached down and began to pick. 'Soon,' he told himself, 'it will look nice and healthy!'

Allister peered from behind a tree. He could see Marius leaving his home, so he came up behind him and blurted out some words.

"Huuwahahahaha! It appears you're weeding! I've tried to keep it clean here, but Solstice isn't very tiny, and Nook won't get one of those fancy lawnmowers, bloop."

Marius jumped as the Captain came behind him, but smiled sheepishly as he turned around. "Heh, yes, and my house is a bit in the middle of nowhere, echo. By the way, I'm Marius! It's nice to meet you, echo!" He offered a wing for the axolotl to shake.

Allister shook Marius' wing and let out another loud laugh.

"Huuwahaha! I like you! This day is grand, as I have made many friends, bloop!"

Marius laughed along with Allister, quite happy to have already made a new friend. "I'm glad! I like you a lot, too!" He smiled widely and hoped that the other animals here were as friendly. "Where do you live?"

Allister pointed to a far, unseen area of town.

"I live waaaaaaaaaayyy over there! It's hard to see, but hey, it's my lovely home, bloop!"
